PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage medium management system for preventing reduction in security when a regular medium (a regular card ) is lost and a regular medium is found.SOLUTION: When a regular card is lost, an authentication screen is displayed to perform manager authentication (S1). A temporary card is then set to a card R/W to read a card ID (S2). A user ID of a user who uses the temporary card is selected (S3). When the user ID is selected, a management server validates the temporary card by registering the user ID in a user/card information storage unit in association with the card ID (S4). Further, the management server sets a status of the regular card associated with the user ID registered to the user/card information storage unit as a "temporarily invalid" state (S5).
