PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that forms different toner layers on an upper layer and a lower layer of a recording material, and suppresses mixing of colors of the upper layer and the lower layer.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus forms a ground layer on a lower layer of a recording sheet by ground layer forming means 10S1 by using a toner for ground layer formation containing at least an infrared absorbing material having an absorption property in an infrared area; and forms an image on an upper layer of the recording sheet by a plurality of image forming means 10 (Y, M, C, K) by using a toner for image formation. The image forming apparatus selectively fixes the toner for ground layer formation by a flash fixing device 80 before fixing the toner for image formation by a fixing device 40 so as to suppress mixing of colors of the upper layer and the lower layer. |
