Provided is a DDR zeolite seed crystal making it possible to curb the occurrence of surfeit DDR zeolite crystal if used as a seed crystal in the formation of a DDR zeolite film on the surface of a porous support body. The DDR zeolite seed crystal contains 90% or more of particles having a mean particle size of 0.05-1.5 mum and an "aspect ratio, which is a value obtained by dividing the maximum Feret diameter by the minimum Feret diameter," of 1-3, the coefficient of variation of the square of the aspect ratio being 0.3 or lower.
