PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient electronic settlement system which performs verification operation at less frequency.SOLUTION: An electronic settlement system comprises: a data storage device such as an IC card storing value information; a client device which has an information input and output function for the data storage device; a store device which provides a product or service; a settlement management device which manages settlement between the data storage device and the store device; and a communication system which connects the client device, the store device and the settlement management device in a two-way communicative manner. The settlement management device generates settlement information for performing settlement in the data storage device on the basis of settlement request information from the store device, performs, on the settlement information, encryption processing using a common key shared by the settlement management device and the data storage device, and transmits the encryption-processed settlement information to the client device. The client device can output the settlement information received from the settlement management device to the data storage device. |
