摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel bearing apparatus improving detection precision and seal performance, while increasing rigidity of a sensor cap to improve reliability.SOLUTION: A wheel bearing apparatus includes: a cylindrical mating part 15a with a cup-shaped inner-side cap 15 press-fitted into the internal periphery of an end section of an outer member 2, the cap being press-formed from a nonmagnetic steel plate; a cylindrical mating part 16a with a disk part 15c extending in the radially inward direction, where a rotation-speed sensor 21 abuts or lies proximal and is disposed facing the magnetic encoder 14, while a sensor cap 16 being press-formed from a steel plate is fitted at the inner side, to be press-fitted into the end-section inner periphery of the outer member 2; a cylindrical flange part 16b being double-folded and extending in the radially outward direction and becoming close contact with an end face 2d; and a bottom part 16c for closing the opening of the outer member 2; wherein the plate thickness t2 of a sensor cap 16 is set thicker than the plate thickness t1 of the inner-side cap 15.
