PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device employing a flare (cloud) development system which hops toner by an electric field that includes an opening (conveyance path along the surface of a developer carrier) capable of taking a development residual toner remaining on a developer carrier after development smoothly in the device, and suppresses leakage of developer from inside the device.SOLUTION: A developing device includes an opening forming member 24 downstream a development area in a direction of rotation of a flare roller 22 as a developer carrier to form an arcuate opening 25 extending along the surface of the flare roller 22. A seal member 26 is provided inside the opening 25. A contact member 27 seals a gap between a supply roller 21 and a casing 17 above a stirring paddle 18 so as to prevent scattering of toner from the device inside via the opening 25. |
