MAYENITE PRODUCTION METHOD

[Problem] To provide a mayenite production method which is capable of producing mayenite without requiring high temperature processing, and lowers equipment and heating costs, consequently lowering the mayenite production cost. [Solution] The mayenite production method is characterized in that mayenite (Ca12Al14O33) is formed by calcining katoite (Ca3Al2(OH)12). It is preferable that the calcination temperature of the katoite be 300-500°C. Additionally, it is preferable to use, as the katoite, a substance generated by introducing aluminum and calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2) into water and reacting same with the water.
