The invention relates to a method for displaying at least one measured value of a measured variable of a vehicle, in particular in a combined instrument of a vehicle, by means of an index mark (3), in particular a pointer, on an illuminable dial (1) having dial figures (2), wherein a start signal (4a) is received and then the dial (1) is changed in a visually perceptible manner and the index mark (3) is changed in a visually perceptible manner. The invention is characterised in that after the reception of the start signal, (4a) the index mark (3) is moved along the dial (1) from a starting position (A) to a defined deflected position (B), preferably the end position, and when the individual dial figures (2) are reached, the scale zone and/or the respective dial figures (2) are changed in a visually perceptible manner.
