The indoor unit (1) of an air conditioner is provided with a body (20) and a movable panel (30). The body (20) has formed in the front face thereof a second inlet opening (18b) and a first opening (19a) of an outlet opening (19). The movable panel (30) is provided with a front face panel (31) and side face panels (32). The front face panel (31) is located in front of the body (20). The side face panels (32) are formed so as to continue in the rearward direction from both ends of the front face panel (31). When the operation of the indoor unit is in a stopped state, the movable panel (30) takes an operation stop state in which the front face panel (31) covers the second inlet opening (18b) and the first opening (19a) of the outlet opening (19).
