PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of forming and supplying a toner image for cleaning even when the interval between non-image areas is narrow.SOLUTION: There is provided an image forming apparatus which comprises: a photoreceptor drum 11 for supporting a toner image; transfer means for transferring the toner image held on the photoreceptor drum 11 to a recording paper 5 directly or through an intermediate transfer body; and a drum cleaning device 17 for cleaning deposits adhered to the surface of the photoreceptor drum 11 passed through the transfer means. A plurality of toner images for cleaning, which linearly extend along the moving direction of the photoreceptor drum 11, are formed along a direction crossing the moving direction of the photoreceptor drum 11 by toner image formation control means for cleaning in a non-image area located between adjacent image areas of the photoreceptor drum 11. |
