PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing synthetic leather that has grain shapes similar to those of natural leather and has a skin layer excellent in wear resistance and appearance.SOLUTION: The method comprises the steps of: providing a resin layer on a surface of a release material for a grain mold transfer; transferring the resin layer to a substrate and then releasing the release material to provide a skin layer having grains on the surface; coating a surface treatment agent composition on the surface of the skin layer with a gravure-reverse coater to form a coating film; and drying the formed coating film with drying means such as infrared rays or microwaves to form a skin layer. The skin layer has grains on the surface satisfying at least one of (1) to (3) in a cross sectional shape: (1) in the cross sectional shape of the grains, the curvature radius R of protrusions and recesses is 0.01 mm to 0.30 mm; (2) in the cross sectional shape of the grains, an interior angle of a protrusion is 100° to 130°; and (3) in the cross sectional shape of the grains, a recess has an opening diameter of 40 μm to 100 μm and a depth of 50 μm to 150 μm. |
