PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a protection element which equalizes an amount of flux applied onto a fusible conductor thereby improving variations in pre-arcing time-current characteristics because sufficient flux is not maintained on the fusible conductor and the variations occur in the pre-arcing time-current characteristics when a protruding part of a cover member is singularly disposed on the fusible conductor.SOLUTION: A protection element includes: an insulation substrate 11; a heating body 14; an insulation member 15; two electrodes 12; a heating body internal electrode 16; a fusible conductor 13 that is laminated ranging from the heating body internal electrode 16 to the two electrodes 12 and fuses a current path between the two electrodes 12 when being heated; flux 17 applied onto the fusible conductor 13 so as to overlap with the heating body 14; and a cover member 1 that covers at least the fusible conductor 13 and is attached to the insulation substrate 11. The cover member 1 includes multiple cylindrical protruding parts 2 that are formed on an inner surface 1a of the cover member 1 facing the heating body 14 so as to contact with the flux 17. |
