<p>The present invention relates a process for treating keratin fibers, preferably hair, comprising the steps of: applying to the keratin fibers a cosmetic composition comprising at least one reducing agent in an amount of from 0.01 to 10% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition and at least one source of ion(s) of formula: wherein X is a group selected from the group consisting of O-, OH, NH2, O-OH, and O-COO-, in an amount of from 0.01 to 10% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition; placing the keratin fibers in an occlusive space; and heating the keratin fibers. The present invention can provide a new treatment process, in particular a permanent deformation process, for keratin fibers such as hair, which can provide good curl lastingness and/or strong perm efficiency, can prevent a high level of hair damage, and/or can reduce the time required for treating the keratin fibers.</p> |
