PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air electrode catalyst layer superior in charge and discharge characteristics and a metal-air secondary battery.SOLUTION: The air electrode catalyst layer for a metal-air secondary battery comprises a layered double hydroxide represented by the formula: [MM(OH)][AmHO], where Mis a divalent metal ion, Mis a trivalent metal ion (at least one of Mand Mis a transition metal ion), and Ais an anion (n is 1 or 2), and x and m meet the following conditions: 0.1≤x≤0.8; and m>0. The air electrode catalyst layer further comprises a catalyst having a transition metal element. The metal-air secondary battery has the catalyst layer. |
