PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phosphorescent organic metal iridium complex exhibiting phosphorescence emission in a wavelength region from blue to green with high quantum efficiency.SOLUTION: A phosphorescent organic metal iridium complex has a structure expressed by formula (G1), including a 4H-1,2,4-triazole compound as a ligand, which has: an unsubstituted phenyl group at the 3-position; a phenyl group at the 4-position; and at the 5-position, a phenyl group which has an alkyl group on at least one of ortho-positions and a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group on the other ortho-position, meta-positions and a para-position.
