PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain damage of a ball screw due to adhesive wear and fretting, without using the ball screw and grease for a special specification.SOLUTION: A rolling element for a ball screw is formed by including an alumina (Al2O3) component and an yttria (Y2O3)-zirconia (ZrO2) component at a rate wherein the alumina component:the yttria-zirconia component is 5-50:50-95 in mass ratio, and the yttria-zirconia component is formed of yttria-zirconia in which the content of yttria is within a range of 1.5-5.0 mol%. The ball screw is incorporated with the rolling element. |
