PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network relay device and a network, capable of proper network maintenance and operation even when OAM frames are transmitted/received between networks based on different standards.SOLUTION: A network relay device 1 relays an IEEE 802.1ah format frame where fields of a destination B-MAC address, a source B-MAC address, a B-TAG, and an I-TAG are added to an IEEE 802.1ad format frame having fields of a destination MAC address, a source MAC address, and an Ether type. The network relay device refers to the Ether type contained in the IEEE 802.1ah format frame and if the Ether type stores an identifier indicating Ethernet(R) OAM, refers to the content of an Op Code in a data field of the frame and performs processing according to a function specified by the referred content. |
