PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing apparatus allowing easy cleaning of a plate surface, and improvement in stability and yield of continuous printing; and a cleaning method relating to the printing apparatus.SOLUTION: A printing apparatus includes: a printing unit comprising a letterpress plate, a plate cylinder to which the letterpress plate is mounted, an anilox roll contacting with the letterpress plate to supply ink to it, and a surface plate holding a material to be printed; and a cleaning unit cleaning the letterpress plate. The cleaning unit includes a cleaning pan having an ultrasonic oscillator in the bottom part, and a suction nozzle for sucking a cleaning liquid supplied to the cleaning pan. |
