The present invention pertains to a system and method for monitoring an analyte. Extreme point information, which is information pertaining to an arrival time at which a time series of measurement signals from a measuring means (12) reaches an extreme point, is calculated for respective subjects. At least one time slot in a day is determined to be a time slot of interest (100, 102, 104) close to the arrival time on the basis of the acquired extreme-point information. A sampling interval (T) at the time slots of interest (100, 102, 104) thus determined is set successively. |
