PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drug for prevention or inhibition of skin inflammation or injury, containing a compound capable of preventing or inhibiting skin inflammation or injury caused by ultraviolet irradiation or the like, having few side-effects, and being suitable for use in topical preparations.SOLUTION: Provided is a drug for prevention or inhibition of skin inflammation or injury, which contains a compound represented by the general formula: Z-A-COOH (wherein Z is either hydrogen, or an aromatic hydrocarbon group or a hetrocyclic group which may have a substituent group; and A is a saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon group which may have a substituent group).
