PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of memory required to arithmetically transform the scale of an image.SOLUTION: A sub scan transformation section 33 refers to m (m is an integer of two or more) pixels specifying a tonal value of one pixel after scale transformation. A first multiplier 331 outputs a result of multiplying a tonal value of the first pixel by a coefficient Ka to a RAM 334. An adder 335 outputs to the RAM 334 a sequential addition of tonal values up to the (m-1)th pixel supplied from a second multiplier 332 if m is three or more to the operation result read out from the RAM 334. The adder 335 outputs to a third multiplier 336 an addition of a result of multiplying a tonal value of the m-th pixel by a coefficient Kb to the operation result read out from the RAM 334, and the third multiplier 336 outputs a tonal value after scale transformation. Concurrently, the first multiplier 331 multiplies the tonal value of the m-th pixel as a tonal value of the first pixel relevant to another pixel by the coefficient Ka, and outputs a result of multiplication to the RAM 334. |
