[Class 80 (i)] [Also in Group XL (b)] In a type-printing telegraph system (see Group XLb) a transmitting cam shaft is driven by a onerevolution clutch device. A flexible toothed pinion P<1> fixed rigidly to the cam shaft A is normally bent out of engagement with the moving pinion P by means of a spring-loaded armature b. When a switch t closes, magnet R2 is energised to attract its armature b and allow the pinion P<1> to spring into engagement with the driven pinion P. The circuit of the electromagnet R2 is mechanically broken at contacts a after one revolution of the cam shaft A. |
