PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a caption synchronizing and reproducing device capable of matching caption display timing with reproducing timing of video and voice while readability of the caption is maintained as much as possible when a video voice content is reproduced at fast speed.SOLUTION: A caption synchronizing/reproducing device 1 includes caption speed calculation means 15a for calculating display speed of a caption from a total number of characters of entire caption relative to a reproduction time length of a video voice content corresponding to multiplying factor, caption speed determination means 15b for determining whether or not the display speed exceeds a reference speed, display time domain setting means 15c for setting a display time domain of each caption so that all captions are displayed in a reproduction time length, on the basis of the determination result, caption reproduction means 16 for displaying caption characters in the display time domain, and video voice reproducing means 17 for reproducing the video voice content corresponding to a caption by speed-conversion using a time length corresponding to a display time domain of the caption. |
