PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing apparatus and the like capable of making a storage device available when an error occurs in specific data.SOLUTION: A printing apparatus includes a host device 400 and a printing material container. A storage device 100 of the printing material container includes: a storage part 120, a communication part 110, and a memory control part 130 performing control to read data from the storage part 120 and control to write data to the storage part 120 based on instructions from a host control part 410 of the host device 400. When it is determined that an error occurs in data stored in the storage part 120, the host control part 410 determines whether a memory area where the data causing the determined error is stored is a specific memory area MAS or not, and if it is determined that the memory area is the specific memory area MAS, the host control part 410 instructs the memory control part 130 to write a default value or an error code in the memory area. |
