The present invention relates to the use of strains of Botrytis cinerea and the spores, hyphae, mycelia, sclerotia, intra- and/or extracellular organic molecules (such as proteins, nucleic acids, polysaccharides, lipids and secondary metabolites) thereof for the biosynthesis of gold particles (AuNPs). Generally speaking, the present invention relates to the use of strains of B. cinerea and/or molecules generated by said organism for biological synthesis of AuNPs, and the scope of application is thus the synthesis of nanomaterials, specifically AuNPs using the phytopathogenic fungus B. cinerea and/or the purified intra- or extracellular proteins thereof individually or in combination with any other intra- and/or extracellular molecule produced by said organism as a biological synthesis system. The metal nanoparticles are used in various applications, including: semiconductors, photoluminescence, biomedicine, medical diagnostic imaging, catalysts (dispersed and supported) and treatments against certain types of neoplasms (cancer), among others. |
