Disclosed are an insulation resistance measurement device having malfunction self-diagnosis function, and a method for self-diagnosing malfunction using same. An insulation resistance measurement device having malfunction self-diagnosis function according to the present invention determines whether the insulation resistance measurement device is malfunctioning by means of first and second insulation detection voltages detected when a diagnostic unit is disconnected (insulation resistance measurement mode), and first and second insulation detection voltages detected when the diagnostic unit is connected (malfunction self-diagnosis mode). According to the present invention, self-diagnosis of whether a malfunction exists is possible by means of an inherent functionality of an insulation resistance measurement device capable of measuring insulation resistance.
