<p>A guard shroud for use in a pump is provided. The guard shroud comprises a plurality of shroud ring portions (4, 8) comprising channel sections with edge portions, which when arranged in a ring and connected along adjacent edge portions define a shroud ring; and an end plate that substantially closes one end of the shroud ring and is provided with an opening, wherein when the shroud ring is positioned around an outer surface of an open end of a cylinder liner (5), the end plate substantially closes the open end of the cylinder liner with the opening substantially coaxial with the cylinder liner so as to provide access for a piston rod (1). The guard shroud prevents external impurities from entering the lubricant oil.</p> |
