An estrus notification device (104) receives, from a relay device (102), information indicating the result of a measurement of a step count sent by a communication device (101) worn by a farm animal (A). On the basis of the received measurement result information, the estrus notification device (104) assesses whether the farm animal (A) has an abnormal condition. Upon assessing that there is an abnormal condition and receiving a notification from a worker (W) to the effect that the worker will handle that farm animal (A), the estrus notification device (104) sets the communication device (101) of the farm animal (A) as a device to be tracked. The estrus notification device (104) sends a change instruction, via the relay device (102), to the communication device (101) to change the sending interval for the measurement result information to a shorter interval. On the basis of the received change instruction, the communication device (101) shortens the sending interval. Subsequently, whenever the relay device (102) used by the tracked communication device (101) to report measurement result information changes, the estrus notification device (104) notifies the worker (W) of position information associated with the new relay device (102).
