Provided is a solid electrolyte comprising yttrium-doped barium zirconate having hydrogen ion conductivity, wherein the amount of yttrium added is 15-20 mol%, and the rate of increase in the lattice constant with respect to variation in temperature within the range of 100-1000°C is almost constant. Also provided is a manufacturing method for the solid electrolyte. The solid electrolyte can be formed as a thin film, and a solid electrolyte laminate can be formed by laminating an electrode layer on the solid electrolyte. The solid electrolyte can be applied to a fuel cell that operates at intermediate temperature.
