PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damper brace which can provide two anchorage points to a civil engineering structure.SOLUTION: In a damper brace 10 installed to a viaduct, two braces 21, 22 are coaxially arranged in an attitude diagonal to two bridge pier, and the left end of the brace 21 is anchored to the bridge pier and the right end of the brace 22 is installed to the bridge pier. The right end 21b of the brace 21 and the left end 22b of the brace 22 are connected through a damper 30. In the damper 30, a cylindrical connecting pipe 32 is arranged which surrounds the right end 21b of the brace 21 and the left end 22b of the brace 22, and a plurality of shear panels 31 are arranged along an axial direction of the braces 21, 22 and project in a radial direction. In each shear panel 31, its inner side end 31a is joined to the braces 21, 22 and outer side end 31b is joined to inner surface 32a of the connecting pipe 32. |
