PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a currency management device capable of effectively suppressing occurrence of wrong calculation at a time of input/output operation during interruption of commercial power supply.SOLUTION: The currency management device comprises: measurement means for measuring amount of currency stored and held in a storage; open operation detection means for detecting whether the storage is opened during interruption of commercial power supply by using an internal power supply; open operation information storage means for storing information on a detection result of the open operation detection means by using the internal power supply; and pre-interruption data storage means for storing a measurement result of the measurement means before interruption of commercial power supply. When the commercial power supply is switched from an interruption state to a conduction state, remeasurement is performed by the measurement means in a case where information showing the fact that the storage is opened is stored in the open operation information storage means. Then, the comparison between the remeasurement result and the measurement result stored in the pre-interruption data storage means is performed and, when it is determined that a difference between the two is more than a predetermined value, warning is alarmed. |
