This physical quantity sensor (100) is provided with: a first vibrator (1) and a second vibrator (2) supported by a support member (9); first detection means (4) for detecting vibrations of the first vibrator (1); second detection means (5) for detecting vibrations of the second vibrator (2); a sensory body (6) having properties enabling the subject material being measured to be held under vacuum suction and/or released, the sensory body (6) being disposed in the first vibrator (1) or the second vibrator (2); elastic means (7) for coupling the first vibrator (1) and the second vibrator (2); and calculating means (8) for determining a predefined frequency at which an oscillating means (3) excites the first vibrator (1). A calculating means (8) determines the predefined frequency at which the amplitude of the second vibrator (2) will reach maximum, and, when the oscillating means (3) excites the first vibrator (1), calculates the mass or the density of the subject material being measured based on the ratio of the amplitude of the second vibrator (2) and the amplitude of the first vibrator (1). |
