[Problem] To reduce the communication load resulting from communication processing for sustaining a connection between information processing devices. [Solution] This information processing device has a communication unit and a control unit. The communication unit can communicate with another information processing device via a relay server on a network. The control unit can acquire communication environment information indicating the communication environment of the communication unit and including attribute information of a communication relay device that relays communication between the communication unit and the relay server. The control unit additionally can calculate a transmission interval at which to transmit a sustaining signal for sustaining the connection with the relay server on the basis of the acquired communication environment information. The control unit furthermore can control the communication unit in a manner so that the sustaining signal is transmitted to the relay server at the calculated transmission interval.
