<p>Organocatalytic ring-opening polymerization of at least one monomer suitable for ring-opening polymerization, or its mixtures, comprises (i) exposing at least one N-heterocyclic compound (I) to a temperature of at least 80[deg] C, preferably at least 100[deg] C for at least 30 seconds, preferably at least 5 minutes in presence of at least one first Zerewitinoff-active compound, and (ii) adding the monomer and reacting in presence of a second Zerewitinoff-active compound. Organocatalytic ring-opening polymerization of at least one monomer suitable for ring-opening polymerization, or its mixtures, comprises (i) exposing at least one N-heterocyclic compound of formula (I) to a temperature of at least 80[deg] C, preferably at least 100[deg] C for at least 30 seconds, preferably at least 5 minutes in presence of at least one first Zerewitinoff-active compound, and (ii) adding the monomer and reacting in presence of a second Zerewitinoff-active compound. Either R1, R2 : alkyl or aryl; and R3-R5 : H, alkyl or aryl; or R1+R3+atoms to which they are bonded, R3+R4+atoms to which they are bonded, R4+R2+atoms to which they are bonded : ring; and A : N, O or S, preferably N, where R2 is not present when A = O or S. An independent claim is also included for a polymerization product producible by the above method.</p> |
