A medical device 1 for supporting or immobilising a hip-joint of a patient, the device comprising: attachment means 4,5,6,7,8,9 for securing the device to a patient, a hinge assembly 2 comprising first and second sections 10,11 pivotally connected to each other, wherein the first section 10 comprises at least one projection 47 and the second section 11 comprises a plurality of recesses 48 operable to receive the at least one projection 47 of the first section 10, and locking means 39 located at the pivot, whereby the position of the first section 10 can be adjusted relative to the position of the second section 11 about the pivot and locked in a desired configuration. |
