PURPOSE: A sheet conveying device, an image reading device, and an image forming device are provided to change the rotation direction of a drive unit only when necessary and prevent a sheet from being caught between rollers. CONSTITUTION: A sheet conveying device (10) comprises first and second convey paths, a drive unit, first and second convey rollers, a rotation part, an acquisition part, and a control part. The first convey path is formed from a sheet supply position to a sheet discharge position. The second convey path is formed from a first position where the first convey path is formed to a second position where is above a sheet convey direction. The drive unit is selectively rotated in first and second directions to generate driving force. The first convey roller is rotated at the second position and conveys a sheet. The second convey roller is rotated below the first position and conveys the sheet.
