A bag filter basket for supporting a baghouse filter bag (28). The bag filter basket comprises a sheet material provided with a plurality of surface openings (41) and formed to a hollow body (43) having wave-shaped cross section. The surface openings (41) have rounded gas inlet edges (42) as seen from an outer side (44) to an inner side (45) of the hollow body (43), the outer side (44) of the hollow body (43) being adapted to support the filter bag (28).
