PURPOSE: A method for obtaining MR data in a preset volume section of a substrate by using a magnetic resonance system and the corresponding magnetic resonance system thereof are provided to optimally integrate the volume section with a photographing process. CONSTITUTION: A display area (40) classifying a preset volume section (31) is determined. The preset volume section is selectively excited by using an RF excitation filter. MR data is obtained in the preset volume section. The center frequency of a frequency range of an RF excitation pulse and the direction of a magnetic field gradient are controlled according to the resonant frequencies of materials in the preset volume section. A vector (50) is defined from the display area to the preset volume section.
