An apparatus for preparing a mixture suitable for a hyperthermal inhalational treatment of an upper portion of respiratory tract is disclosed. The apparatus comprises an exterior housing 13 with a vertical wall 15 defining an interior compartment 14, where a gap exists between the base of the housing 13 and the bottom of the wall 15. An inhalant I is contained within the housing 13 and a mixture of mist and vapors M of the inhalant I is formed within the interior compartment 14. The apparatus further comprises an air flow inlet 19, inhalant inlet 28, outlet, heating element 26 and a blower module 16 to supply airflow to the airflow inlet 19. In one embodiment, the apparatus further comprises a nebulizer module 20 adapted to produce an aerosol A and a mixing module 30, to mix the inhalant vapor M with the nebulizer aerosol A. |
