<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substance having an apoptosis inhibitory activity and also safe and having a high stability, wherein, such the substance is considered as capable of becoming a medicine useful for the preventing and treating agent of skin diseases, such as skin roughness, etc., caused by the apoptosis enhancement of cells constituting skin, rheumatoid arthritis, hepatitis accompanying with the viral infection such as hepatitis B, hepatitis C, etc., fulminant hepatitis, diabetes, myocardial infarction, ulcerative colitis, chronic nephritis, alopecia, neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinsonian disease, etc., ischemic encephalopathy, acquired immuno-deficiency syndrome, dilated cardiomyopathy, etc., foodstuffs and cosmetic composition, and useful for a cosmetic method. <P>SOLUTION: By searching the apoptosis inhibitor widely in natural world by the screening of anti-apoptosis active substances by using a skin keratinocyte cell line, the activities of inhibiting the apoptosis of the skin keratinocyte cell line are found out in the extracts of sea weeds belonging to the genus Sargassum (e.g. at least one selected from the group consisting of Sargassum ringgoldianum, Sargassum horneri and Sargassum fulvellum), the extract of Ginkgo bilova, the extract of Chlorella vulgaris and β-glycyrrhetinic acid and extract of Sargassum ringgoldianum. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
