<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gel cassette for electrophoresis capable of increasing a storage number into a batch type container and being efficiently charged with gel, and having excellent stability and reproducibility in gel quality, and good handleability and workability at electrophoresis, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The gel cassette for electrophoresis comprises: a cassette member 5 having a pair of tabular base materials 1 oppositely disposed at an interval in a thickness direction T, gel 2 charged between the pair of base materials 1, a first opening 3 for exposing the gel 2 on one side of an energizing direction E perpendicular to a thickness direction T of the base materials 1, and a second opening 4 for exposing the gel 2 on the other side of the energizing direction E of the base materials 1; and a buffer tub formation member 8 for forming a first buffer tub 6 disposing the first opening 3 thereon, and a second buffer tub 7 partitioned from the first buffer tub 6 and disposing the second opening 4 thereon.
