PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high anti-counterfeit effect for a display body and a labeled article. SOLUTION: The display body 10 includes a first boundary portion 12a having a relief type diffraction grating formed by a plurality of grooves, and a second boundary portion 12b formed by a plurality of regions 12b1 and 12b2 containing a plurality of recessed or projecting portions, respectively arranged one-dimensionally or two-dimensionally. The portion 121 and the other portion 12b of the plurality of regions have different center-to-center distances at the recessed or projecting portion from each other. The minimum center-to-center distance of the plurality of grooves is of the shortest wavelength of visible light or larger, and the center-to-center distance of the plurality of recessed or projecting portions is below the shortest wavelength of visible light.
