PURPOSE: An object tracking device and a tracking method can process image data acquired from a client device separately at the client device and a computing device, implementing high quality image recognition technique. CONSTITUTION: A communications unit (301) transmits/receives data with an image acquiring device and a computing device through a network. An object estimator (303) comprises a target object to trace. The object estimator predicts a position and a contour of an object on an image frame after multiple image frames. A matching unit (306) produces a trace position and trace contour of an object on a predict image frame. The matching unit matches the predicted position of an object, a detected position of an object, and a contour.
