The furniture has a seat surface section (13) liftable from a base frame (10) and pivotally connected with a backrest section (14). The backrest section is connected with the base frame at its free upper ends by a hinge (17). The seat surface section is liftable together with the backrest section into a horizontal position by pivoting of the backrest position. A movable, positionable support (19) is arranged at the base frame for fixing the backrest section with the seat surface section in a lifted-out position. The support is fixable at a lower side of the backrest section.
