PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a vacuum valve at low cost with enlarged capacity having a longitudinal magnetic field electrode. SOLUTION: In the vacuum valve with a pair of electrodes set in opposition in a vacuum vessel in free contact and separation, each electrode has a cylindrical coil electrode 3 with a plurality of L-shaped slits 3b formed at a peripheral wall, a disc-like contact 1 is firmly fixed through a long jointing plate 2 spread in a radius direction at one end side of the coil electrode 3, an electrode rod 5 fitted into an inner periphery part of the coil electrode 3 is firmly fixed to the other end side, and further, a cylindrical electrode support 4 with higher resistance than the coil electrode 3 is arranged inside the coil electrode 3 to firmly fix one end to the contact 1 and the other end to the electrode rod 5.
