Welding contiguous blades of at least one metal workpiece by a laser, comprises applying an additional material on the regions located at the edges of workpieces for increasing the absorptivity of laser light, while avoiding mechanical contact, with which the edges of the workpiece are then extruded together by laser, where paint is used as the additional material, which is sprayed on the workpiece by a paint releasing device as a layer with layer thickness of 0.5-100 mm.
