Cooling circuit for cooling an electrochemical cell and method for operating such a cooling circuit

The circuit (2b) has a pressure drop creating device i.e. orifice (6), for creating a pressure drop from a high working pressure (pa), and comprising a cooling fluid i.e. cooling water (K) such as deionized water, during a cooling process in an electrochemical cell (3). The device is provided at a low system pressure (Ps) that prevails outside of the cell, and connected to a degasser (8) for removing gas that escapes from the cooling fluid. A heat exchanger (10) is connected downstream to the degasser that is formed as an open cooling liquid container (22) and an automatic degasser. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a cooling circuit.
