PURPOSE: A solar cell is provided to improve generation efficiency by reducing the recombination of electrons and holes. CONSTITUTION: A passivation layer (14) is located on one surface of a P-type semiconductor layer (12). Charge carriers are produced in the semiconductor layer by the exposure to light. The passivation layer applies a stress to the semiconductor layer. The passivation layer changes the mobility of the charge carriers in a preset direction.
