PURPOSE: A backlight unit and a liquid crystal display device having the same are provided to improve process efficiency by forming a cover bottom with the function of a white reflection sheet. CONSTITUTION: Reflection patterns are formed on a bottom surface (110). A sidewall protrudes from the edge of the bottom surface. A cover bottom (100) is made of a resin composite. A light source part (300) is arranged on the inner side of the sidewall. The cross section of the bottom surface comprises an ascent region and a descent region.
