PURPOSE: A USB power control device considering the characteristics of audio, video, and navigation (AVN) for a vehicle and a method thereof stably read information stored in a USB memory by stably supplying power to the USB memory. CONSTITUTION: A USB interface part (210) performs USB communication with a USB memory stick inserted into a terminal. A control part (110) controls power supplied from a power source part (120) of a vehicle to be supplied to the USB interface part. When initial power is supplied from the power source part, driving power is supplied to the USB interface part with a lower voltage than a predetermined driving voltage during a specific time.
